I’ve got a new interested or passion if not love even. It’s neither a girl nor a boy, it’s not a living thing whatsoever since I actually never have been into animals that much. No, the new love in my life is art. Yes, it has finally come to that. I who couldn’t care less about paintings, statues and other pretentious bullshit just a couple of years ago am now a full blown art junkie. I’m beginning to decorate my home with choice paintings and photographs, statues are still not my cup of tea really. My apartment is actually beginning to get sort of crammed these days, there’s not awful lot space left on any of my walls save the lavatory where I can hang the pieces I plan to buy and the ones that I’ve already got too for that matter. Maybe, I should try to limit my acquisitions, focus on and try to steer my collection into a distinct style or a specific period. Actually, the bulk of the stuff I’ve got already is from the latter half of the nineteenth century. I think that I somehow, perhaps semi-consciously, have centered and built my entire collection around this eerily beautiful very monetesque piece that I bought on an auction in New York two years go. Maybe I should dive further into that style and collect more works like it.
